Where should we meet Cosplayers?

Where should we meet Cosplayers? Yes, This would be a frankly asked question by most Cosplayers. And I know that most of cosplayers/nerds/wonderfulppl have a hard time socialicing with others and might find it hard starting new relations to other or just don't know where to start! I was indeed one of those people and that's why I want to share my experience with where to find nerds, before giving up and end up dinking vodka and juice.
(I do not recomend any one starting a drinking habbit!)

This is Vodka juice and pancakes.

So an obvious place to start is at a convention, but I'll get to that later because there are poor people like myself who doesn't really have the money to go to every con avalible. I would start out easy, go to a meet up or a cosplay walk (trust me people at a walk or a meet up are the friendliest ppl) if you have a friend take them along with you I promise it'll be worth it! You can always start a chat with a few people you see that are going beforehand!<3 And fyi I'm the one with pink hair behind the Nagisa cosplayer

Let's go for a walk.

Take away.
So, now that we're at the con I know we can't all get into a confident mood like I always do. Yes I am a git so so sorry!
where-to-meet-cosplayers-3
The way too confident cold nerd.
I would start out easy and maybe get to know the people in your sleeping hall, I have made great long lasting friends in sleeping halls! Mainly because of a mirror I always bring because bathrooms for girls are always crowdy gosh. So try socialise with the people you're (maybe depending on how much of a nightowl you are and how many games you're gonna play) going to sleep side by side with!
where-to-meet-cosplayers-4
If you can handle a few rejections and is an artist you can always make a stand! It will again coast you, but there will always be tons of people talking to you praising your art and I have seen many people just sticking around your stand because they think you're awesome (I've been that person a few times xD). Even though having a stand can be tireing it's a good way to show off your skills and earn a few extra coins!
where-to-meet-cosplayers-5
You can also always start a conversation with a cosplayer at a con by complimenting their cosplay, asking for a picture ans then maybe talk about the serie they're cosplaying from. I know personally I kinda already think a person is awesome if they just point out i look great or ask for a hug! Always remember to ask though, because as you might know personal space is indeed a thing.

Tutorial to make hair Buns

When You bought a Cosplay Wig, you will first try it on to see what it looks like on you. After you wear it for about 15 minutes, the wig may quickly got messed and turned into a hassle. This would be a great nightmare if you need to join in the convention next day. So what are you gonna to do? I decided to re-style it for the Cosplay pictured above.
Note: This tutorial is for wigs that are NOT ponytail wigs. I am also using a normal, synthetic wig, not a heat-resistant one.
For reference, this is how the wig used to look, straight out of the package.

Materials that you need to prepare. If you don't have several materials at home, you could go to a native craft shop to get those.
-Hot glue gun
-Hot glue sticks
-Base wig
-Wefts/leftover hair
-Placemat/worktable
-Snaps + thread and needle
-Scissors
-Styrofoam balls
-Knife
-Hard-edged tool (ex. popsicle stick)
-Hairspray
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-3
I went to the craft store and bought two styrofoam balls to start (in case I shredded the first one while cutting it in half). Since Miku has a lot of hair, I opted for the slightly larger 4" ones with a smooth exterior.
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-4
You now need two semi-circles. I cut one ball in half using various knives I had in the kitchen. Lucky for me, the cut was super clean.
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-5
I prepped my hot glue gun and got out the extra hair I'd cut off the pigtails. I sectioned out a few small bunches to use first.
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-6
I took one section of hair and glued the ends to the flat side of the styrofoam ball, smoothing them out with the side of a pen and my finger. Seriously, be careful if you dare using your fingers.
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-7
Decide where you want the hair to lay. I made a thin line of glue from the edge of the ball to the center and carefully patted the hair into the glue. Use glue sparingly to prevent it from oozing between the hairs. I repeated the last two steps again to secure the hair to the other side and then continued until the entire half circle was covered. After a while, I started using wefts from the pigtails because they were so long that I could wrap them around the semi-circle twice.
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-8 How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-9 How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-10 How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-11
You'll be using a lot of hair to cover the styrofoam, and make sure to cover all the nude/thin spots and any clumped-up glue. Cover with hairspray to finish. Now to repeat the same steps on the other bun.

How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-12 How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-13
The underside isn't very pretty, but no one will see that, especially if your costume requires scrunchies around the buns or if your wig is a bit fluffy and layered.
The process isn't difficult, it just requires a lot of time and patience. I believe covering one bun took me about four hours.
The next step is attaching the buns to the base wig. First, hot glue some snaps to the underside of each bun.
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-14
Then decide where you want the buns to sit on your wig. I measured mine and marked the sweet spot by jamming a sewing pin through the weft. Once you've decided on the spot, sew on a MATCHING snap to the base wig (I totally screwed this up the first time).
How-to-Make-Hair-Buns-15
Lay the hair down when you finish and attach the buns.

How to Care for a Curly Wig?

Cosplay Wigs is really important for a Cosplay Show. At long last, you bought the wig for your favorite curly-haired character. After wearing it around, it's started to look a bit sad and not as neat as before, but what are you supposed to do? If you drop it, it would be a waste of money.
Trust me when I say this is going to be the wig you want to mess with the least, because the longer the wig is and the more hair it has, the longer this will take. Be warned that this should be the wig you are the most careful with, because this process sucks. Defend this wig with your life.
Now Let's see how to care for the Curly Wig?
I just use the brave merida Cosplay Wig to show you the process.
Starting at the bottom, section off your hair as if you were to sew in some tracks. Leave a small bunch of hair at the bottom of the wig down for you to work on.
how-to-care-for-a-curly-wig
Use your fingers to separate the curls from other curls before viciously combing the ends of the hair. This is easy for you to do it.
How-to-Care-for-a-Curly-Wig-1
It now looks gross and horrible like this. Looks better?
How-to-Care-for-a-Curly-Wig-2
We may face this hair, how to fix this problem? Take up your flat iron and iron the ends.
How-to-Care-for-a-Curly-Wig-3
You can do this even if your wig is not heat resistant as long as you're careful. Don't worry if your hair starts to look a little flat, we can fix that. You can use a curling iron to fix this if your wig is heat resistant.
How-to-Care-for-a-Curly-Wig-4
With the hair still warm (not hot, don't burn yourself!), wrap the hair around your finger in a tight curl. Hold for a few seconds before letting go. Also you could use a Pen to roll it. Pretty easy to do, right?
How-to-Care-for-a-Curly-Wig-5
And then you could do the entire wig with those processes. I know this would be a great work to do, but if you have enough time, I am sure you could have fun when doing this.

The only thing that I am not satifised is the skirt, it needs to be ironed so that it would be flat enough. Do you think so?
